Long time no blog liao Pt 1: Grades and studies

In many blinks of an eye, the new term started again. It is going to be about the same workload as my previous term since I am taking 7 courses as compared to 8 courses. But since everyone else is taking a MATH 301 course (about complex numbers) so I also 凑热闹 and take it lorh. So now it's you die I die. But I sincerely hope that if I die this term then at least the following terms will be better.

Finally after about a month the grades for my remaining course last term is out. Luckily despite my increasingly decreasing motivation and effort I still managed to get about 80% average (we here don't use GPA, only averages). I'm kinda curious as to what my real grades were before the professors scale it (because the grades are usually terrible to behold before any scaling is done). In a way it's kinda delusional because you always see ok-ok grades even though you know you did pretty bad just because other people did worse than you. More than anything else scaling is for some administrative convenience I guess, than it id really reflecting the truth of how well you are learning. Because you only see how well you learn compared to others. But maybe the grades don't matter too much as long as you feel like you have learned the subject well (as long as you don't fail, that is). But a 高人only warned us of a certain illusion of knowledge.... Nevermind, I guess it is a neverending story.
