My perspective of Genting Trip
After a long time of procrastination, I'm finally blogging about this nice trip.
Statement: I'm not going to link to other people's blog.
Annie, Mei Shan, Xuan, Englishman, me, Tasmanian Devil, Miss Chuan, Tcherry, McLum took a 1:00 a.m Transnasional on May 25th to Kuala Lumpur and we arrived at 5:00 a.m. at Puduraya. The noob driver got saman halfway. Almost everyone except Miss Chuan got little sleep from the uncomfortable bus ride.
After we arrived, we went for some mediocre dim sum at Petaling Street then we took Putra LRT to Gombak Station to buy tickets to Genting. It was a pretty sweet deal - RM26 for two-way trip for bus ride and cable car to Genting and an outdoor theme park day pass (which by itself costs RM33, as I found out later)
MM Miss Chuan (Englishman and Xuan in the background) - looking sickly but not actually sick
The three swordsmen finally arrived after taking one turn which took about 20 minutes - must have been a gigantic turn. Then we took the cable car to the top of Genting. I've always enjoyed the cable car ride because of the pleasant top-down view and the cool breeze.
We decided to check in first before indulging in the theme park pleasure. We waited for about 50 minutes to check in bored to half-death. The time was about 11.15 a.m. (Yes, Jenny's post about this is slightly inaccurate). As soon as we checked in (we guys into a triple room, 3 girls in standard room), some guys decided to have some homo-fun.
A moment of true bliss! (Jenny is buried deep beneath the fleshes of joy)
We were starving by the time we finished bathing, resting so we went for lunch at Burger King. Chee K, Mei Shan, Annie, and I ordered a Family Meal but the cashier messed up the ordered and didn't deliver 2 apple pies which would have cost about RM6 in total. An example of Malaysian competency in general.
Then we went on to play in the theme park. First thing is the Spinner.
Spinner....duh
Then something happened - maybe because Jenny thought we abandoned him while he went to the toilet, then he got cranky and lau kai-ed a bit. (Nah, say other people lau-kai). Then majority of us played Corkscrew. Afterwards we tried out Pirate Ship which is relatively new compared to even the Flying Coaster ("Superman" in layman terms). Tcherry and Jenny didn't board the Pirate Ship, but they spent quality time with each other while taking photographs. It was really exciting and I pretty much spent the whole time controlling my breathing to minimize the impact of gravity on my mental state. Other people? Well, they screamed and flailed their arms. And Xuan looked really scared. Well, to be honest, I was too.

The bus ride was very good with very old Chinese songs and old gamblers. I slept soundly because I was sitting beside Mei Shan. Then we waited for the 3 swordsmen - Jenny, Taikor Limys, and Chang Jing Lu (CJL). I took some pictures to show how depressing and sickening the lighting is in the cable car station.

Nothing scary about this guy. But it's pretty nice being up there feeling the wind. The nicest part is pushing Miss Chuan up there and hearing him screeching like a her. (Oh, she's so hot)

After that we wanted to play Space Shot/Solero but it kept on raining, and the mists were gone. In the meantime, we went to the Pirate Train/Ghosthouse. It was so scary you guys will regret not going for it. It was so dark and scary. Then got those scary ghosts. And monsters. And scary scary.... And darkness... Oh so scary. Next, we went for a ride on the Cyclone. The rises and falls weren't the scary part but the most frightening aspect was that the whole structure looked like it'd fall apart anytime with all those creaking noises and the stuck car. Last but not least, we went for the Tea Cup. Seemingly the most innocent of all our rides, not to mention that it's a Family Ride, it turned out to be rather catastrophic. Taikor Limys' group which includes Miss Chuan and the Tasmanian Devil was the most serious with the record of two casualties because Taikor "Xiong guang da fa", "Kuang mo luan wu" and spinned the teacup like there was no tomorrow even the Tasmanian Devil also beh tahan the spinning, then you can imagine how fast the damn thing was spinning.
Oh noes! Miss Chuan got sick too!!!
The Englishman escaped with a mild injury
I was in the same group with Jenny and CJL. Since I was on the heavy side, my weight helped us to avoid the otherwise rather disastrous consequences like those of Taikor Limys' group. After this incident, most of the people went to play the Flying Coaster while Jenny, CJL, Cheng Chuan stayed back to tend to the ill Tasmanian Devil because we were afraid that if things go on like this, Tasmanian Devils would be extinct from our world. And our world would no longer has any Tasmanian Devil, and we would no longer see any Tasmanian Devil, and we would cry out, "Ohhhh...Whither art thou, Tasmanian friend?" and Tasmanian Devil would no longer be seen hanging around places like Tasmania, and when people want to see Tasmanian Devil they can only see it on cartoon and museums....
We went back to hotel to rest and bathe and had dinner. Since the non-fast food on Genting was so ridiculously expensive, we had our second fast-food-meal for the day. And we watched the Pirates of the Carribean 3 at the cinema. There were a few massaging chair on the front row somemore. The movie, like its predecessors, was excellent but there was so many things going on so rapidly it's pretty hard of keep track of what had happened. And I wasn't that satisfied with some characters playing non-existent part in the movie.(Spoiler) Like in the movie, they were saying how powerful Calypso is, and when they released her, she didn't really do anything and just became a billion crabs and disappeared. !!?? Maybe I missed something.
That night they played Truth or Dare. Those kinda of gossiping and such lo. And the Englishman keep asking hamsap question lidat lorh. Terry and I was trying hard to sleep but they are a noisy bunch liek. Luckily I brought my ear plugs hehe.
The next morning we had brunch at a restaurant in First World Plaza. The food was so-so. But one thing that annoyed me was that the waiter didn't return the change. Even if we want to give tip, we would leave the extra behind, right? It's not up to them to decide whether the change is tip or not. What's with these people's mentality anyway?

After the meal, we packed up and prepared to check out and....
Actually when I was changing my pants, one cent fell out 0f my pocket. But Tcherry, thinking that it was a wishing pond or something like that, donated one more cent into the shithole.
Next, we packed up and left. While we are at cable car station, we went to visit an animal fair. Since a few of us bought the ticket together, it cost us RM7 per person. We saw a lot of exotic organisms and I think the ticket price was worth it. Here are some of my favourite pics

Apparently we were getting late for Wu Zun. Xuan's getting grumpier each passing minute so we fai fai dei go back KL. Luckily she got to watch Wu Zun nevertheless (whose singing skills make me shudder). Before we siam, we had a fabulous meal at Sushi King in Lowyat Plaza. Well, not too fabulous because CJM, Miss Chuan, KeeYan, and I took majority blue plates nia. And thanks to Englishman for being so generous as to share some of our cost. Then we siam!
~The end~ (Finally. I delayed posting this for so long. Apologies.)
