I'm Sick!!
For the past three days, I've been down with flu. I didn't know how I catch it, but man it's terrible. The first day was still ok, a bit tired + a bit fever + a bit sore throat, even watched v for vendetta and had mamak food (spicy)- i know, i'm committing suicide. Yesterday it got worse, the symptoms were stronger, and I lost my voice, the throat was very painful, even when I was speaking, eating, or drinking.
My mom was worried sick. She kept on asking me to see a doctor. As cheap-skate as I am, I said, "I'll see about that" - which is the euphemism for "no". So my condition got worse and worse, I got depressed, felt like dying. But after attending Campus City, I felt somewhat encouraged. So I prayed harder, ate strepsils, and gargled mouth with salted water.
Today I was still sick. Nevertheless,I went out with my friends, Ai Li and Chee Kang to Times Square. And for 2 hours, we just sat in Starbucks chatting - which is a euphemism for talking crap. Later Ai Li's parents came to bring her back to Ipoh. I really wanted to follow her, one of the reasons being that she has grown into an attractive woman, and the other being I missed the chicken with sprouts. However, I was bound my assignments - the typical tragedy of college students.
Afterwards, walked around with Chee Kang in T.S. We visited Borders, a HUUUGE bookstore. As usual, I didn't buy anything (I only buy books from Payless, heh heh). Suddenly I found out that my sore throat has actually gotten better, but the problem is I started coughing. Still, we loitered in Low Yat - I bought 5 cd-rw, Chee Kang 4, and a computer game (GodFather) and a Streamyx subscription (Congratulations!). Then we go home - back to the boring but fun life.
The moral of the story:
1. I'm a cheap-skate
2. When you have flu, don't just rely on doctors, you can always rely on God and Strepsils...
