Summary of this weekend

Well, this weekend was ok. Went to church for Friday (Good Friday), yesterday, and today (Easter) - watched a play called "Something Playing In My Ear" on Good Friday and Easter. Yea, it's the same play for both days, meaning I watched it twice, and twice I was touched. This is a high quality production, I'm pretty sure it'll fetch awards if it was submitted for participation in short-film competitions.

Anyway, this play is about a hopeless wealthy man who has been diagnosed with a cancer, a girl who gave up a good job to serve God full time, and an orphan who's dissatisfied with the unfairness of life and claims to have "come to terms" with the circumstances. Actually the man was the orphan's father who left her when she was borned, in which her mother died due to birth complications. This play illustrates how they reconciled despite the orphan's resentment, and how the "holier-than-cow" girl regained hope to serve God after the depression of quiting her job, and how she played a part in bring the father-daughter together, and how they came to know God and found peace in Him. Really good play, with two good songs - "The Perfect Sacrifice" written by a church member, and "Grace" originally performed by U2 - both performed live (and brilliantly,) by church members.

(Applauses) Well done, guys! Ai Li, you really don't know what you've missed. A play that can make us laugh yet be touched at the same time, with an important message behind - the perfect sacrifice of Christ. Man, I'm blessed to be in this church. All thanks to Bernard "Big Guy" Khoo, for bringing me there - he's in New Zealand now.

Other than church-related events, nothing much. I didn't go to the PIKOM computer fair - mainly because the lack of time, even though I wanted to go. Did some homeworks and assignments (and still doing it, and will still be doing it in the future) - looks like an endless list of things to do, huh! Nevertheless, by God's grace, hopefully can finish them and maintain my academic performance.

p/s: I really missed the good old days of going yc with friends, watching animes for a few hours straight, or playing computer games without any consciousness of time, although I became numb like a zombie that time. Seems like there's no particular lifestyle that can satisfy my completely without any drawbacks (sighs...). My church member and friend, David Huan, is going to the States for 3 months for vacation cum learning. All the best for you, David - hope you can grow and learn while you're there! God bless you and may the Holy Spirit guide you always in your paths of Life!

Amen.
